State Road 75 will close June 1 south of North Salem

NORTH SALEM — The Indiana Department of Transportation has announced State Road 75 will close on or after Tuesday, June 1 south of North Salem for bridge work and a deck overly.

This is over a Branch of Big Walnut Creek, located just north of West County Road 500 North.

The official detour follows S.R. 236, State Road 39, U.S. 36 and back. This is scheduled to be completed by July 30.

The project also includes replacing the bridge on State Road 75 over Interstate 74. This work will occur next year.

HIS Constructors was awarded the $2.5 million contract.

Work also begins in Avon

AVON — INDOT also announced that bridge work will begin on or after Tuesday on the U.S. 36 Bridge over White Lick Creek, located on the west side of Avon.

The U.S. 36 westbound bridge will be replaced.

Traffic will utilize crossovers and be shifted into one 16-foot lane in both directions on the eastbound bridge. Work is scheduled to last through Nov. 5.

This project was awarded to Rieth Riley Construction for $2.8 million.

INDOT reminds motorists to use caution and consider worker safety when driving through a construction zone.
