County Jail

Three people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Thursday

• At 2:27 a.m. Elizabeth J. Parrish, 34, Cloverdale, was lodged at the jail for possession of methamphetamine and domestic battery.

• At 2:22 a.m. Keith K. Kowalkowski, 32, Cloverdale, was housed at the jail for driving with a suspended license with a prior conviction.

Wednesday

• At 11:25 a.m. Miranda J. McNew, 32, Stilesville, was booked in for driving with a suspended license with a prior conviction and on bond revocation.

Sheriff’s Office

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated three recent property-damage crashes.

• At 3:43 p.m. on Tuesday, Erin L. Roseboom, 42, Coatesville, was backing out of driveway at 175 Gettysburg Rd. in a 2020 Dodge Durango.

Roseboom told Maj. Dwight Simmons she did not see the 2016 Chevrolet Cruze registered to Craig and Amanda Reed that was parked next to her. Roseboom’s SUV hit the driver’s side front fender of the car.

Simmons estimated damage at $1,000-$2,500.

• At 8:58 a.m. on Monday, Nancy M. Rutledge, 64, Terre Haute, was eastbound on U.S. 40 in a 2012 Chrysler 300M when the vehicle began to hydroplane and ran off the roadway.

The vehicle struck the end of a guardrail and came to rest partly in the road.

The vehicle was towed. Deputy Josh Deal estimated damage at $10,000-$25,000.

• At 9:40 a.m. on Thursday, May 13, Mardenna J. Boler, 83, Cloverdale, was northbound on U.S. 231 in a 2005 Saturn Ion. Timothy N. Brown, 64, Crawfordsville, was northbound in a 2016 Subaru LS.

Boler was slowing to make a left turn onto Hospital Drive and turned into Brown’s path.

Brown could not avoid a collision and hit the right front of Boler’s vehicle.

Boler had to be extricated from her vehicle and was transported to Putnam County Hospital. Brown and his passenger signed statements of release and were taken to their home.

Cpl. Brian Helmer estimated damage at $10,000-$25,000. Both vehicles were towed.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department recently responded to one dispatch:

• At 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD responded to a mutual aid alarm for a fire at 1940 S. CR 400 West. Firefighters arrived on the scene at 12:53 and assisted with extinguishing the fire, which was confined to a garage. GFD assisted with salvage and overhaul and went back into service at 1:37 p.m.

Additionally, GFD recently performed five medical assists.
