County Jail

Three people were booked in the Putnam County Jail on Thursday.

• At 9:21 p.m. Brayden C. Porter, 27, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail for driving while intoxicated.

• At 10:40 a.m. Arthur E. Kenworthy, 47, Danville, was taken into custody for possession of methamphetamine and criminal trespass.

• At 3:45 a.m. Bonnie J. Coss, 49, Rosedale, was booked in for driving with a suspended license.

Sheriff’s Office

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated one recent property-damage crash.

• At 9:11 p.m. on Thursday, Erin N. Robertson, 21, Cloverdale, was eastbound on U.S. 40 in a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado when she hit a deer.

Deputy Kyle Lee estimated damage at $1,000-$2,500.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to two recent dispatches:

• At 9:52 p.m. last Tuesday, GFD was dispatched to 101 Fairview St. for an unauthorized burn. Firefighters arrived at 9:56 as the homeowner was burning a small fire in the yard. Firefighters notified the homeowner of the city burn ordinance and the fire was extinguished. GFD went back into service at 10:04 p.m.

• At 4:52 p.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to 1672 W. CR 100 North for a vehicle fire. Firefighters arrived at 4:55 and found an unoccupied vehicle with a fire in its engine compartment. The fire was extinguished, and GFD went back into service at 5:33 p.m.

Additionally, GFD recently performed 24 medical assists, had one disregard and one dispatch with no incident found.
