Are you looking for a way to support your community this summer? Lucky for you, the Putnam County Community Foundation currently has a matching opportunity through its annual Share the Dream program.

In 2003, Share the Dream was established to increase fundraising efforts for endowments at the Community Foundation. Now, 18 years later, this year’s Share the Dream program will continue supporting its endowments by providing a 50-percent match for all gifts made between now and July 31 to any of the 25 community partners participating in the matching opportunity.

So, for example, a donation of $50 turns into $75 with the match. Thus, as a community, we can collectively support the participating endowments and help them maximize their impact by making a gift to their fund.

The following endowments are participating: Bainbridge High School Alumni Scholarship, Cloverdale Dollars for Scholars Endowment, Family Support Services Endowment, FFA Alumni Scholarship (Cloverdale Dollars for Scholars), Fillmore High School Alumni Association Scholarship, First Baptist Church Capital Improvement Endowment, First National Bank Scholarship (Cloverdale Dollars for Scholars), Greencastle Alumni Dollars for Scholars, Heritage Preservation Society Projects Endowment, Kiwanis Club of Greencastle Endowment, Millgrove United Methodist Church Scholarship (Cloverdale Dollars for Scholars), People Pathways Endowment, Purdue Club of Putnam County Scholarship, Putnam County 4-H General Scholarship, Putnam County Board of Realtors Scholarship, Putnam County Comprehensive Services, Putnam County Fairgrounds Endowment, Putnam County Library Endowment, Putnam County Museum Endowment, Putnam County Soil & Water Conservation Scholarship, Reelsville Alumni Scholarship Fund, Ronald W. Price Scholarship (North Putnam Dollars for Scholars), St. Paul’s Ladies Guild Scholarship, Tucker Family Scholarship (Cloverdale Dollars for Scholars) and Vincent Faulkner Scholarship (Cloverdale Dollars for Scholars).

Many of the participating endowments are holding special fundraising events this summer, so be on the lookout. It is a great time to support these organizations, scholarships and other philanthropic causes. Their fundraising efforts will ensure their annual disbursements continue to grow, and they can diversify their funding sources while working to fulfill their mission.

You will notice there is a wide array of endowments participating this year. No matter the causes near and dear to your heart, I am confident there is an endowment that aligns with at least one of them.

To learn more about the endowments participating in Share the Dream, visit www.pcfoundation.org or contact the Foundation office at 653-4978. The staff would be more than happy to discuss what endowment best aligns with your philanthropic goals.

Gifts for Share the Dream can be mailed to 2 S. Jackson St., Greencastle 46135, or can be made online at www.pcfoundation.org/donate.
