Power Down

Monday, July 19, 2021
The section of Washington Street near Greencastle High School is closed down to Percy Julian Drive after a car crashed into a utility pole Monday evening. Greencastle Police Capt. Charles Inman said the 19-year-old driver was trying to swat a bee off his leg and then veered into the pole. Both the driver and his passenger complained of some pain, but both declined to be taken to the hospital. A dog was also with them and was missing from the scene. Duke Energy was notified to repair the lines, and Seniour’s Towing was called to retrieve the vehicle. Along with the Greencastle Police Department, Putnam County EMS and the Greencastle Fire Department’s rescue truck responded to the incident.

  • That is going to be a very expensive swat at a bee.
