Golf event for Russellville, Bellmore VFDs set Aug. 14

WAVELAND — The Russellville and Bellmore volunteer fire departments will host a golf event on Saturday, Aug. 14 at Turkey Run Golf Course, Waveland.

The event is a fundraiser for both departments to support everyday operations and purchase needed equipment. The funds raised may also go toward non-profit organizations and be tax-deductible.

The event will include a four-person scramble and contests for closest-to-the-pin and longest drive. Prizes will be awarded for the first- and second-place team score, as well as for holes-in-one.

The cost per player is $75 with green fees, cart fees, dinner, beverages and entry for prizes included.

There are 22 team slots available. Early registration is preferred before Aug. 6 and may not be possible at the event if the 22-team maximum is filled.

Check-in will go from 9 a.m. until a shotgun start at 10 a.m.

Sponsorship opportunities include the following: Event sponsors - $500; beverage cart or lunch sponsors - $250; and individual hole sponsors - $100.
