James J. Hess

James J. Hess, 72, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 31, 2021.

He was born April 19, 1949 in Long Island, N.Y., to the late James and Wanda (Ahlm) Hess.

Jim married Kathy Lybbert in the Salt Lake Temple, Salt Lake, Utah, on April 6, 2009, and she survives.

Jim was a dedicated long-haul truck driver for 36 years.

He was a highly decorated corporal in the Marines, serving honorably in the Vietnam War.

All that knew him recognized his positive, outgoing personality.

Jim was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints of Greencastle.

In addition to his wife, Kathy Jim, is survived by his stepson, Bill Davis, and brother Fred Hess.

A celebration of life for Jim will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 9 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 280 E. County Road 300 South, Greencastle, with military honors to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Greencastle.
