BCB to ‘March Through the Galaxy’ Sunday

BRAZIL — On Sunday, Aug. 8, the Brazil Concert Band, directed by Matthew Huber, will present Marching Through the Galaxy at 8 p.m. in Forest Park, rain or shine.

The concert will include two John Williams classics, “Star Wars Medley” with “Main Title” and “Princess Leia’s Theme,” arranged by John Tatgenhorst and “Star Wars - The Marches” with “Parade of the Ewoks” and “The Imperial March” arranged by Jerry Brubaker.

Also by Williams, “Raiders March” from “Raiders of the Lost Ark” will be performed.

Fans of classic television shows will enjoy “A Rhapsody of Reruns” arranged by Paul Jennings including “McHale’s Navy,” “The Addams Family,” “Leave It to Beaver,” “Gilligan’s Island” and “M*A*S*H.”

From the pen of John Philip Sousa, the band will include “Glory of the Yankee Navy” and from his suite “Cubaland,” the second movement titled “Under the American Flag.”

“Simple Gifts” from “Four Shaker Songs” by Frank Ticheli, along with “Royal Bridesmaids” by John W. Casto, “Sahara Grotto Band” by Fred Jewell and “Neel’s Fashion Plate” by W.P. English, will complete this week’s show.

The Brazil Concert Band will perform each Sunday through August.
