Ila Irene Perkins

With great sadness we announce the loss of our beloved mother, Ila Irene Perkins, 94, of Roachdale. In loving memory of “Mamaw,” we are all saddened by her passing on Aug. 11, 2021. A life so simply lived deserves to be beautifully remembered.

She married the late John Willard Perkins in 1945 and celebrated 67 years together.

She was the mother of two daughters, Judy Knowling (the late Teddy Knowling) of Greencastle and Drusilla Foley (Patrick) of Crawfordsville. She was a grandmother to John Foley (Michele), Brandon Knowling, Tricia Oliver (Jack), Julie Anderson and Jennifer Torr (Chris). She was a great-grandmother to 12 and a great-great-grandmother to five.

She loved nothing more than being with family, visiting with great neighbors, special friends and her Tennessee friends (a.k.a. family). As her health declined she enjoyed spending her day word searching and coloring many, many books of flowers and designs. We will miss her showing us the new pictures she had just finished, and will cherish all of the beautiful pictures she left behind.

Ila will be laid to rest privately by her family in Roachdale Cemetery.
