Mary Ann Staley

Mary Ann Staley, 86, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021 at her home in Greencastle.

Born Sept.13, 1933 in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Ollie and Velva Guthrie.

She was a 1951 a graduate of Ben Davis High School.

Mary enjoyed farming, gardening and working at the DePauw University library. She was a member of the Fillmore Christian Church and Ladies Bible Study and the Club 16 Home Ec Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Charlie Michael and Lyle Staley; her daughter, Patricia Michael; and her sister, Donna Chappell.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Jean (Dale) Steele, Linda (Mark) Baird and Chris (Ernie) Sheldon; a sister, Betty Quass; a brother, John (June) Guthrie; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 24 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until time of service.
