Lenora Alspaugh

Lenora Alspaugh, 84, of Greencastle, passed away early Friday, Aug. 20, 2021.

Born Oct. 31, 1936 in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Emory Roe and Katie (Lively) Roe.

She was a graduate of Bainbridge High School.

Lenora had worked at many places such as PR Mallory, JC Penney, Prevo’s, McDonald’s as assistant manager, Bob Evans on Rockville Road, Indianapolis, and The Hub at DePauw University. She loved all her DePauw students. Her hobbies included her flower gardens, spending time with her family, and traveling.

She was a huge animal lover who was nicknamed the Cat Lady but her most cherished companion was her dog, Max. He went everywhere with her. She was the biggest Elvis fan and had a big collection of memorabilia.

She went to Graceland with daughter, Cathy, which was a dream come true.

Lenora was a lifetime member of VFW Auxiliary 1550, Greencastle, and a member of the Cloverdale American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include four children, Cathy King and husband Chris, Camby, Brad Alspaugh and wife Tama, Greencastle, Tracy Alspaugh, Greencastle, and Tosha App and husband Larry, Greencastle; nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and sisters Sharon Wallace, Bainbridge, Wanda Wehrman and husband, Dean, Greencastle, and Jackie Calvert and husband, Michael, Missouri.

She also had many nieces and nephews she loved dearly. Some of them called her Aunt Norie because it was too hard for them to say Aunt Lenora. Her parents, son Brian Scobee, and brothers Emory Leon (Bud) Roe, James Roe and Harold Roe preceded her in death.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Aug. 28 from 11 a.m. until noon with a memorial service to held at noon at Bousley Funeral Home, Coatesville. Burial will be at a later date in Roachdale Cemetery.
