Theresa and Mark Smith

Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, located at 3988 S. CR 300 West, Greencastle, has recently welcomed Mark Smith as its new pastor.

Smith and his wife Theresa come to the church with more than 30 years of ministry experience. They have six married children and 17 grandchildren. Smith previously held a pastorate at Fellowship Baptist Church in Westville for almost 22 years.

The Smiths also bring the Southside Biblical Counseling Center to the community. The Center has provided services for hundreds of couples and families for the past 15 years.

The Smiths have arrived just in time to help the church prepare for the 80th anniversary of its founding. The church is a New Testament one which was established on Sept. 6, 1941, and it continues to strive to fulfill the Great Commission that Jesus set forth to His believers in Matthew 28:19-20.

Special services are planned and the community is invited to attend and hear from some of the preachers who have served the church. Its history will be celebrated with the following services:

• Saturday, Sept. 4 at 6 p.m.: Steve Montgomery, with a fellowship meet, greet and eat

• Sunday, Sept. 5 at 9:30 a.m.: David Halcomb

• Sunday, Sept. 5 at 10:30 a.m.: Mark Cox, with a fellowship luncheon

• Sunday, Sept. 5 at 6 p.m.: Ron Knapp, with a fellowship meet, greet and eat

For further information or any questions, contact the church office at 653-8227 or Smith at 219-379-3029.
