Eldon Duane Lewis

Eldon Duane Lewis, 84, of Greencastle, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2021.

Born June 8, 1937 in Greencastle, he was the son of Eldon Henry and Mary Thelma (James) Lewis.

Eldon was a disabled American veteran, having served in the United States Navy on the New Jersey Battleship and Macon Cruiser.

He retired from IBM and later worked for the City of Greencastle. He also owned and operated Lewis Bait and Tackle for several years. He was avid member of the NRA.

Eldon is survived by his two children, Barbi (Kenny) Inman and D. Scott Lewis; a granddaughter, Brooke (Nick) Pennington; great-grandchildren, Chloe and Austin; a stepdaughter, Pam (Bob) York; stepgrandchildren, Heidi, Tracy and Kevin; and step-great-grandchildren, Allen, Jessica and Paige.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Milton Lewis; wife Janet Lewis; and a stepdaughter, Karen.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 1 at Forest Hill Cemetery with military honors.
