Tuesday, August 31, 2021

The DePauw University Orchestra will begin the DePauw School of Music’s fall 2021 concert season with a performance Sunday, Sept. 5 at 3 p.m. in Kresge Auditorium in the Green Center for the Performing Arts.

Featured on the program will be Chinese composer Li Huanzhi’s “Spring Festival Overture,” William Grant Still’s “Mother and Child” and Italian composer Ottorino Respighi’s famous “The Pines of Rome.”

“We are very pleased to be back rehearsing and crafting performances to be with live audiences,” Orchestra Director Orcenith Smith said. “These three works are all about defining joy and beauty and those are things that we all need right now.”

There are no tickets necessary for the performance, but the audience is requested to be in mask protocol.
