Theodore ‘Ted’ Settle

Theodore “Ted” Settle, 87, Indianapolis, passed away on Nov. 16, 2021.

He was born on Sept. 9, 1934 in Indianapolis to Robert and Marie Settle.

Ted is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Sharon; his two sons, Rob (Sally) Settle of Columbia, S.C., and Jeff (Sherri) Settle of Vallonia, Ind.; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He served in the U.S. Army then began his career with the Indiana State Police, both of which he was proud to serve. Retiring from ISP in 1987, he worked for the Marion County Sheriff’s Department for eight years and loved being part of their motorcycle drill team.

Ted was a member of Pioneers of ISP, American Legion and FOP.

He was predeceased by his parents, his grandpa, “Gus” and recently his precious great granddaughter, “Lucy B.”

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory are welcome to Friends United Church or State Police Alliance.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 19 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at G. H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Ave., Indianapolis. A funeral service with military honors will be conducted on Friday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
