Nathan Eugene Wood

Nathan Eugene Wood, 41, of Greencastle, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 27, 2021, at Putnam County Hospital.

Nathan was born in Greencastle on Nov. 18, 1980, the son of Loren Eugene and Debra (Grimes) Wood.

He was a 2000 graduate of Greencastle High School. He graduated in 2004 with an associate’s degree in diesel mechanics from Lincoln Tech.

Mr. Wood worked for 15 years with Crown Equipment. He was a welder and worked in maintenance. Nathan was also a volunteer firefighter with Madison Township for several years.

Nathan enjoyed listening to music, fishing and hunting, cutting firewood and helping anyone in need. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Kelly Wood, 41, of Greencastle; two children, Emma Wood, 16, and Caleb Wood, 12, both of Greencastle; his mother; a brother, Michael Perrine (Carol); a niece; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, December 3, 2021, at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Visitation will take place from 11 a.m. until time of service.
