Frederick Nelson Foster, 81, of Plainfield, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021 at Hendricks Regional Health in Danville.

Fred was born on May 29, 1940 in Indianapolis, to the late Edwin E. Foster and Malva (Goss) Foster.

Fred grew up in Indianapolis and graduated from George Washington High School.

He worked as a route driver for Wonder Bread for 35 years, retiring in 1998.

Fred enjoyed staying busy, so he started a second career with Kessler Schafer Auto Auctions (KSAA) for 22 years. He enjoyed bowling, birdwatching, traveling to Gatlinburg and was an avid Cubs and Colts fan. He once bowled a perfect game in the Yellow Freight Transportation League.

He was a member of the Plainfield Eagles Lodge and attended Hazelwood Christian Church and more recently, Stilesville Christian Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Kellie L. Collier.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Ann (Phillips) Collier Foster; children Kellie S. Burgess, Derrin W. Foster and Kimberly A. (Homer) Harp; stepchildren Machelle K. Banks and Becky L. (Jerry) Lents; brother Edwin E. (Toni) Foster; grandchildren Tiffany A. Pieper, Cory Skiles, Miranda Foster, Andrew Burgess, Sabrina Urban, Justin Foster, T.J. Cooley, Erik Burgess, Danny Pieper Jr. and Mike Pennington; great-grandchildren Grace Pierce, Braeleigh Skiles, Lorna Foster, Kiera Urban, Kaysen Cooley, Cayden Pieper and Bryson Pieper as well as nephew Johnny (Denise) Foster and niece Misty (Rueben) Wetherill.

Family and friends will gather for Fred’s life celebration visitation on Thursday, Dec.16 from 4-8 p.m. at Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with services on Friday, Dec. 17 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow the services in Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield.
