Airsoft gun reported on North Putnam school bus

Students arrived safely at school following an incident in which a gun was reported on a school bus Tuesday morning.

According to a Facebook post on the incident by the school corporation, an elementary student told another student that a gun was in his backpack. The bus driver then communicated that one was onboard and safety protocols were followed.

It was later found that the gun in question was a damaged airsoft one. Meanwhile, all the students on the bus arrived at school without incident.

“Kudos to the students on the bus who did as they were taught, and especially to the bus driver who handled the situation calmly and safely,” the post stated.
