County Jail

Several people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Sunday

• At 3:32 a.m. Derrick J. Kay, 41, Indianapolis, was lodged at the jail for driving while intoxicated with a prior conviction, driving with a suspended license with a prior conviction and possession of marijuana.

• At 2:34 a.m. Austin J. Clark, 22, Monrovia, was taken into custody for driving while intoxicated.

Saturday

• At 9:05 p.m. Dustin J. Stouder, 40, Greencastle, was housed at the jail for driving while intoxicated.

• At 1:15 p.m. Christopher D. Clay, 56, Terre Haute, was booked in for driving while intoxicated.

• At 3:35 a.m. Amber L. York, 35, Cloverdale, was lodged at the jail for domestic battery.

• At 12:12 a.m. Trystien L. Boswell, 23, Cloverdale, was taken into custody for driving while intoxicated.

Friday

• At 7:15 p.m. Diana R. Jones, 46, Ladoga, was housed at the jail for auto theft.

• At 5:57 p.m. Terry D. Ragland, 60, Roachdale, was booked in on a Marion County warrant.

• At 9:49 a.m. Jeffery W. Burger, 59, no city listed, was lodged at the jail on two counts of failure to register as a sex of violent offender.

City Police

Two recent arrests were reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Kayla N. Bowling, 27, Greencastle, was arrested by Sgt. Chris Jones and lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

Taken into custody at the Greencastle Inn on Bloomington Street, Bowling was arrested on a Putnam County warrant for non-support of a dependent child and a Clay County warrant for failure to appear in court on original charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of a narcotic drug.

• At 9:49 p.m. Dec. 16, David Walker, 31, Greencastle, was arrested by Officer Seth Doty and lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

Arrested outside the Kork & Keg on Indianapolis Road, Walker was taken into custody on a Montgomery County warrant for failure to appear in court.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to four recent incidents:

• At 5:35 a.m. on Tuesday, GFD was notified of a tree partially blocking the roadway on Shadowlawn Avenue. Firefighters found the tree at 5:46 and removed it. GFD went back into service at 5:52 a.m.

• At 6:18 a.m. on Wednesday, GFD was notified of a tree in the roadway at 1608 E. CR 225 South. Firefighters found the tree at 6:29 and removed it. GFD went back into service at 6:51 a.m.

• At 8:43 a.m. on Wednesday, GFD was dispatched to Beyond Homeless for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 8:47 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm was reset. GFD went back into service at 8:58 a.m.

• At 12:51 p.m. on Wednesday, GFD was dispatched to 106 S. Spring St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 12:55 and found burned food on the stove. The alarm was reset. GFD went back into service at 1:05 p.m.

Additionally, GFD recently performed six medical assists and had one disregard.
