Jesse M. Hunt passed away on Dec. 9, 2021 in Kalispell, Mont., surrounded by his three children.

Jesse is survived by sister Cathy (Steve) Albin; daughter Candice (Joe) Thurman and three grandchildren, Owen, Emmett and Audrey; daughter Cassie Hunt and three grandchildren, Chanlie, Emmerson and Hallie; son Scott (Erika) Hunt; and grandchild Olivia.

Jesse was born in Newcastle, Wyo., to Jesse A. Hunt and Phyllis Bierbach-Turner on Aug. 28, 1955. He was a welcomed addition who completed their family — a baby brother for big sis.

He grew up in Aurora, Colo., and spent the springs and summers playing baseball and managing his lawn cutting business.

Shortly after graduating from Hinkley High School, he joined the Navy. After his four-year active-duty service, he moved to Libby, Mont., where he married and was blessed with three children. Jesse and his family eventually relocated to Indiana. He started his own insulation business which was in operation for 27 years. Jesse lived a happy life in Indiana, but he always dreamed of returning to his beloved Montana. After retirement, Jesse made his dream a reality and moved back to Libby where he spent the last eight years simply living his best life.

He loved hunting, fishing and riding his Harley-Davidson. Jesse was absolutely in awe of the endless beauty that surrounded him in Montana and never took for granted living somewhere so majestic it could only be described as God’s country.

Although he left this earth too soon, Jesse lived life to the fullest and on his own terms. He was kind and patient and charitable. He loved Candice, Cassie and Scott with his whole being and he was the proud grandpa to their beautiful children. He loved God and his faith was steadfast.

Jesse was laid to rest privately by his family in Libby Cemetery.

A celebration of Jesse’s life will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 29 from 4-6 p.m. at Servies & Morgan Funeral Home, 102 E. Washington St., Roachdale, IN 46172.
