Melvin Ray Williams

Melvin Ray Williams, 70, Greencastle, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2021 at Mill Pond Health Campus.

Melvin was born in Greencastle on April 28, 1951, the son of Max and Helen (Huber) Williams.

He worked at PCCS for many years and also in Plainfield at a gas station, riding his three-wheel bike there daily.

Melvin was a artist. He would draw beautiful pictures. His favorite place to draw was at McDonald’s. He would go daily and call it his “office.”

Melvin was also a member of the Moose. There he played in pool tournaments and sang karaoke. His favorite song to sing was “Long Black train.“

Melvin leaves behind three siblings, David, Kevin and Lin, along with many nieces and nephews and a ton of cousins.

The Williams family would like to thank PCCS, Mill Pond, St. Vincent Hospital and all the wonderful people who have taken care of Melvin over the years.

A celebration of life will be held at Putnam County Airport and Conference Room, 1595 Ballard Lane, Greencastle, from 3-5 p.m. on April 3. Dinner will be served.
