Roy Wayne Neese

Roy Wayne Neese, 90, of Brazil, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022 following a short stay at Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care.

Roy was born on Aug. 19, 1931 in Putnam County, the son of Joseph Daniel and Zella (Schroer) Neese.

He graduated from Reelsville High School with the class of 1949. Following high school, he served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Roy worked for the Lone Star cement plant in Greencastle for many years and then IBM until his retirement. He enjoyed bowling and his antique cars and spending time with family.

He was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and attended the Knightsville United Methodist Church.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Zella Neese; siblings Mary Belle Spelbring, Marilyn Jane Carter, Francis Neese, Betty Cohoon and Clyde Neese; and in-laws Ronald Eggers, John Carter, Earl Cohoon, Ronald Rodgers, Carl Spelbring and Carolyn Neese.

Survivors include his siblings Geneva Eggers of Avon, Ronald Neese and Marlene Rodgers; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Visitation will be at French Funeral Home, 421 E. National Ave. Brazil, on Monday, Jan. 10 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Rick Henry officiating. Burial will follow at Poland Zion Cemetery.
