Ruth Coy

Ruth Coy, 90, of Greencastle, passed away on Monday, Jan. 10, 2022 at McCormick’s Creek Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Spencer.

Ruth was born in Martinsville on Dec. 11, 1931, the daughter of Robert and Edna (Silvey) Long.

She was a graduate of Martinsville High School.

Survivors include her four children, Leanna Smith (husband Russell), Johnny Coy (Jennie), Sherry Perdue and Jerry Coy (Bethanna); a sister, Janet Burkett; seven grandchildren, Clayton Smith (Amanda), Stacey Smith (Lisa), Jacob Coy (Marzieh), Jill Hamilton (James), James “Trey” Marcum (Heather), Tara Coy and Caleb Coy; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 42 years, Marlin Coy; a daughter, Kristi Lewis; and two sisters, Betty Snyder and Ann Potter.

Private graveside services will be held at a later date in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
