Comprehensive Services donates $10,000 to Special Olympics of Putnam County
Putnam County Comprehensive Services has provided $10,000 to assist Putnam County Special Olympics with the funds necessary to participate in the 2022 Summer Games.
All participating athletes will have the majority of their costs covered to attend the June games in Terre Haute.
Through memorial gifts, the annual Dining in the Dark fundraiser hosted by Von Braden and with a special contribution from PCCS, a check for $10,000 was presented to the Putnam County Special Olympics Treasurer Anita Edenfield.
A significant portion of the donation came from the last wishes of Anthony Ingram, who requested the any proceeds from his autobiographical book ”Coming Out of My Cocoon” be used to fund Special Olympic activities.
Ingram passed away in December with specific instructions for PCCS to pass along the funds to Special Olympics of Putnam County.
Special guests Beth Krampe, dear friend of Anthony; Stacie Langdon, city councilor; Anita Edenfield of Special Olympics; and Von Braden with Dining in the Dark attended the gift presentation hosted by the PCCS athletes and staff in April.
