Hazel Marie (Wilson) Siddons, 86, of Coatesville, passed away Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022 at Hickory Creek Nursing Facility in Greencastle after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

She was born May 12, 1936 to Alva Everett and Gladys “Mae” Conwell Wilson.

Growing up in and around the Belle Union and Greencastle area, after graduating from Greencastle High School, she married her sweetheart Russell Franklin “Frank” Siddons on June 3, 1955.

She was hard working and there was never a task she wouldn’t attempt. She enjoyed life to the fullest. Always full of laughter with never a dull moment when spending time with her.

She loved gardening and flowers. There wasn’t anything she couldn’t grow. She definitely inherited that green thumb from her mom. She spent countless hours hand stitching many amazingly beautiful quilts over the years, with each stitch very precise.

After their youngest child started school, she started working at Amo Elementary School as a cook. After a few years she became a bus driver for Mill Creek Community Schools. She continued doing the job she loved for 30 years. Even after she became “retirement age,” it was difficult for her to give up the job of picking up and dropping off “her kids.”

She loved watching the Indiana Pacers and Indianapolis Colts. She and Frank would get their pizza, bottle of water, and kick back in their chairs ready to watch every game.

Hazel is survived by her beloved husband Frank; son Clyde Siddons and fiancé Patty Allen; daughter Connie Siddons Lindsey; grandchildren Nathan (Cody) Lindsey, Adrian (Tasha) Siddons, Jason (Leyna) Washburn, Amber Siddons Roberts, RaiAnn (Mike) Stelzner and Matt (Victoria) Washburn; great-grandchildren Brayden (Alley) Kennedy, Lexie (Colton) Phelps, Rylan Lindsey, Allie, Kari and Mikey Stelzner, Makayla and Breanna Siddons, Austin and Autumn Leonard, Haley and Chase Washburn, Ryder Washburn; great-great-grandchildren Kaydence and Jasper Phelps, and Noraleigh Leonard; sister Joana (Wilson) Wood; brother Wayne Wilson; and sister-in-law Annie Schroeder.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Sandi Siddons Washburn; son-in-law Gene Lindsey; granddaughter Kristen Denise Washburn; great-grandson Seth Alexander Ray; grandson-in-law Matt Roberts; siblings Everett (Mary) Wilson, Edna (Elmer) Sutherlin, Irene (Chuck) Rogers, Thelma (Everett) Harmon, Mabel (Earl) Poynter, Bud Wilson, Leannie (Garfield) Petrey; sister-in-law Mary Wilson; and brother-in-law Jim Wood.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31 at Bousley Funeral Home, Coatesville, with Pastor Dan French officiating. Calling will be from 10 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in the Coatesville Cemetery.
