Roger Lee Parmley, 79, of Greencastle, died of a broken heart on Sunday, Aug. 28, 2022, at Mill Pond Health Campus.

Roger was born in Wyandotte, Okla., on Oct. 3, 1942, the son of Johnnie and June (Young) Parmley. He attended Oklahoma State University.

Mr. Parmley was a member of Masonic Temple Lodge F&AM 47 Greencastle, the Indianapolis Valley Scottish Rite, Murat Shrine, and the Putnam County Tractor Association.

He worked for more than 40 years as a seed corn salesman for Asgrow and Monsanto until his retirement.

Roger liked to fish and mow his grass, but most of all he loved his grandchildren.

Survivors include his three sons, Dean Tumilty (wife Char), Grady Parmley (wife Mellisa) and John Parmley (wife Jody); four grandchildren, Kyle Parmley (wife Bailey), Jaxon, Benton and Keaton Parmley; two brothers, Randy Parmley (wife Joyce) and Rick Parmley (wife Beth); and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 52 years, Nata Parmley; and a brother, Kenneth Dale Parmley.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2 in Forest Hill Cemetery with Pastor Mark Miller officiating.
