Wanda June Chandler Elkins

Wanda June Chandler Elkins entered eternal rest on Sept. 14, 2022, in Plainfield.

Wanda was born June 10, 1946, to Robert Franklin Sr. and Kathryn Shields Chandler in Indianapolis.

She had a special love for her family and cherished her grandchildren; any and all children in her house were considered grandkids. Her life’s mission was to provide for and love her family.

Wanda worked several years at Bainbridge Grain Co. before becoming a successful real estate broker in 1991, and eventually principal broker of Coldwell Banker Putnam Real Estate Center. She retired in 2016.

She is survived by her children, Kathryn Adams O’Hair of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Tammy Adams Gilliam (Brad) of Plainfield, Christie Inglert Wynn (Ernie) of Mountain Home, Texas, and Jason Inglert (Tiffany) of Monrovia. She is also survived by her eldest sister, Evelyn Chandler Handley. Her pride and joy were her 11 grandchildren, Cara, Ben, Ryan, Andy, Laurisa, Brianna, Maddie, Jason, Ethan, Trenton and Trinity and 12 great-grandchildren Travis, Jackson, Gavin, Cooper, Paisley, Laylee, Gracelyn, Stratton, Brynlee, Elayna, Addison and Justin. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Robert “Bob” F. Chandler Jr.

Services will be held at Conkle Funeral Home at 76 N. Avon Ave., Avon. Family will receive visitation Sunday, Sept. 18 from 2-5 p.m. Graveside services will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery, 709 Harding St., Plainfield, on Monday at 11 a.m.

Donations can be made in Wanda’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
