James ‘Jim’ Edward Dean

James “Jim” Edward Dean, 62, Brazil, passed away on Friday, Sept. 16, 2022, at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.

He was born on Nov. 27, 1959, in Greencastle to the late Howard and Mary (Stewart) Dean.

Jim attended North Putnam High School and graduated in the class of 1978.

He married Kimberly Fox on Nov. 5, 1983.

Jim worked for the Town of Cloverdale, the Putnam County Highway Department and Lear.

In his free time, Jim attended auto racing and car shows. He was an avid woodworker and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his brother, William “Breezy” Dean.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Kimberly Dean of Brazil; son Camden Dean of Evansville; daughters Candace (Scott) Alexander of Greencastle and Keena Butler of Brazil; brother Leslie “Buster” Dean of Roachdale; sisters Dorothy Wells, Peggy McFarland and Pat (Mike) Phelps, all of Greencastle; grandchildren Samara Alexander, Everett Alexander, Payton Butler, Triston Butler and Skylar Butler; sister-in-law Maria Dean Clodfelter of Greencastle; family friend DeVon Brown of Evansville; dogs Sophia, Moe and Fitu; as well as several nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends.

Moore Funeral Home in Brazil has been entrusted with Jim’s cremation arrangements. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
