COLLEGE REPORT: Trigg keeps roll going at SMWC

Thursday, October 13, 2022

Kennedy Trigg is picking up this fall where she left off in her freshman season on the soccer field for St. Mary-of-the-Woods last year.

Trigg has scored three goals and assisted on two others, ranking her second on the team with eight points. She has made 12 shots on goal for the 2-4-3 Pomeroys.

Last year, the speedy Trigg had 13 goals in 13 games. For her efforts, Trigg was named as the September 2021 Athlete of the Month at SMWC.

She recorded all 13 of her goals in a successful September in which the team went 6-1 -- including hat tricks against Defiance, Lincoln Christian and Iowa Wesleyan.

“One of the biggest attributes that Kennedy possesses is her humility,” former SMWC coach Craig Hendry said last fall. “She is a standout player but still sees it as her duty to be consistently among the hardest working players on our squad.

“She trains just like she plays, with focus and intensity,” Hendry added. “She understands what it takes to be a Pomeroy soccer player and we are blessed to have her. Kennedy is “All-In” all the time.”
