Karen Pauline Welty

Karen Pauline Welty, 82, of Bainbridge, formerly of Coatesville, passed away on Monday, Nov. 7, 2022.

Born Jan. 21, 1940, in Greencastle, she was the daughter of Elmer Bruce and Maude Minnie (Ellis) Sims.

Karen was a homemaker and farmed with her husband on their family farm.

She was a member of Lifespring Church of Bainbridge.

Karen loved to play golf, bridge and winter in Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband William Welty; brother Phillip Sims; and an infant sister, Rebecca Sims.

Karen is survived by her husband, Thomas Herbert; children Jeff (Yvonne) Welty, Vicky (Harold) Greene and Kent (Sandy) Welty; brothers Michael (Terry) Sims and Doug (Julia) Sims; six grandchildren, Matthew (Melissa) Welty, Alison (Jeremy) Briles, Michelle (Matthew) Williams, Tyler (Sara) Welty, Cory (Ronica) Welty and Nathan (Grace) Welty; six great-grandchildren; and six stepchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 12 at the Bittles & Hurt Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Stilesville Cemetery, Stilesville. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10 at the funeral home.
