Leonard Ray Tucker

Leonard Ray Tucker, 90, of Spencer, passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 15, 2022, at the Owen Valley Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Spencer.

Leonard was born in Monticello, Ky., on Dec. 14, 1931, to Albert Tucker and Bertha (Dodson) Tucker.

Leonard graduated from Patricksburg High School in 1950 and was on their undefeated basketball team.

Leonard married the love of his life, Laura Mae (Brinson), on Feb. 22, 1951.

He worked at Rostone in Spencer, Essex in Elwood and Rawlings Sporting Goods in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Missouri and then retired from Lear Corporation in Greencastle.

Leonard is survived by his children, Lana Sue Tucker and Leah (Keith) Veale; grandchildren Samantha Sewell, Colin Cabage and Eric and Alan Veale; great-grandchildren Braydn Sewell, Zoey Veale and Baby Veale (on the way); siblings Adell Keith, Lois Bixler, Al (Joan) Tucker, Chris (Charlie) Blair and Harry Tucker; sisters-in-law Margie Tucker and Phyllis Tucker; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Leonard was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Roland “Short” Tucker, Ophard “Slim” Tucker, Odus “Ode” Tucker and Gilmer “Gib” Tucker; brothers-in-law Lee Keith, Bill Bixler and John Stahl; and sisters-in-law Doris Tucker and Beverly Tucker.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19 at the West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home, 105 N. Montgomery St., Spencer. Darin Crum will officiate. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
