Betty Brown, 95, died at the home of her daughter, Vicky Weir, in Greencastle on Dec. 4, 2022.

She is survived by four children, John “Mick” Caton of Stilesville, Vicky (Dennis) Weir of Greencastle, Bobbi (Abigail) Caton of Jeffersonville and Baron “Barry” (Ann) Brown of Hillsboro, N.C.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sister Joann Jett of Oaklandon.

She was preceded in death by parents Clyde and Cleo Brown; husband L. Paul Brown; brothers Bill Brown, Frank Brown and her twin Bob Brown; and great-grandson Carter Madsen and baby Harleigh Weir.

Betty was a member of Sullivan First Baptist Church for over 40 years, where she taught Sunday school and Children’s Church and worked with the drama department.

She served as a volunteer at Sullivan County Hospital for 10 years, where she worked in the gift shop and at the switchboard. She also volunteered at the Sullivan County Historical Society and Miller’s Merry Manor.

Betty was an avid gardener and enjoyed working in her yard.

A private service will be held with Pastor Bret Cox and Pastor Bobbi Caton officiating. Interment will be in Johnson Cemetery in Graysville. A public visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 8 at Brust Funeral Home.
