County Jail

Six people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Wednesday

• At 4:53 a.m. Keith S. Torrence Jr., 38, Indianapolis, was booked in on a local warrant.

• At 12:01 a.m. Charles E. Mack, 60, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail for driving while intoxicated causing serious bodily injury.

Monday

• At 8:56 p.m. Dustin L. Cox, 33, Russellville, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 4:30 p.m. Troy L. Vogel, 36, Brazil, was taken into custody on an out-of-county warrant.

• At 3:14 p.m. Randy W. Runnells, 58, Greencastle, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 11:02 a.m. Kalib J. Lawrence, 21, Greencastle, was booked in on a warrant.

City Police

Four recent arrests were reported by Greencastle City Police officers:

• At 2:08 a.m. Thursday, Marilyn Warren, 24, Reelsville, was arrested by Officer Damon Ludwig.

Stopped on Veterans Memorial Highway at Tennessee Street, Warren was lodged in the Putnam County Jail for possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. She was also cited for driving with a suspended license.

A passenger in the Warren vehicle, Christian Bethel, 27, Greencastle, was issued a summons into court for possession of marijuana.

• At 10:17 p.m. Tuesday, Camron B. Pacheco, 21, Hot Springs, Ark., was arrested by Officer Chris Helmer.

Taken into custody at McClure’s Gas Station, Pacheco was lodged in the Putnam County Jail for possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia.

• At 10:17 p.m. Tuesday, Corey A. Rogers, 21, Hot Springs, Ark., was arrested by Officer Helmer at McClure’s and lodged in the local jail for possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia.

• At 11:38 p.m. Monday, Brent Lee Wallace, 38, Greencastle, was arrested by Officer Helmer at North Locust and Franklin streets.

Wallace was booked into the jail for possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and driving without ever receiving a license.

One additional summons was issued Monday by city officers:

• At 9:07 a.m., Tucker Bowles, 20, Monrovia, was stopped by Officer Helmer at U.S. 231 and Tall Oaks Lane.

Bowles was cited for reckless driving, improper passing, having an expired license plate (Dec. 14, 2022) and speeding (82 mph in a 50-mph zone).

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to six incidents since Monday afternoon:

• At 2:52 p.m. on Monday, GFD responded to a motor vehicle incident with injuries in the parking lot at Ascena Retail Group. Firefighters arrived on the scene at 2:59 and cleaned up debris. GFD went back into service at 3:33 p.m.

• At 6:46 a.m. on Tuesday, GFD was dispatched to Taco Bell for a fire investigation. Firefighters arrived at 6:47 and were advised that a fryer sparked and it was unplugged. Power to the fryer was secured after it was plugged back in and sparked again. GFD went back into service at 7:18 a.m.

• At 1:13 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD was dispatched to Pi Beta Phi at DePauw University for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 1:17 and did not determine a cause for the alarm. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 1:28 p.m.

• At 2:41 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD was dispatched to the Hubbard Center at DePauw for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 2:45 and determined the alarm was due to food burned in a microwave. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 2:53 p.m.

• At 7:07 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD was dispatched to the former International Automotive Components facility for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 7:14 and found a water flow alarm on a riser main had malfunctioned. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 7:47 p.m.

• At 8:57 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD was dispatched to Lucy Rowland Hall at DePauw for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 9:01 p.m. and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 9:10 p.m.

Additionally, GFD responded to four medical assists and had one disregard during this timeframe.
