County Jail

Several people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Wednesday

• At 10:31 a.m. Billy J. Englert, 43, Ladoga, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 10:18 a.m. Joshua R. Church, 34, Greencastle, was booked in on a warrants for welfare fraud and theft.

• At 3:21 a.m. Douglas R. Riley, 28, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail for driving while intoxicated endangering a person.

• At 1:13 a.m. Jeffrey W. Timm, 49, Crawfordsville, was booked in on a local warrant.

Tuesday

• At 6:52 p.m. James J. Campbell, 44, Greencastle, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 6:31 p.m. James D. Flatt, 38, Roachdale, was taken into custody for possession of methamphetamine, obstruction of justice, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of paraphernalia and driving without receiving a license.

• At 5:06 p.m. Anthony J. Alamo, 35, Greencastle, was booked in on a local warrant.

• At 1:54 p.m. Juan J. Halley, 49, Indianapolis, was lodged at the jail on a court order.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to five incidents since Monday afternoon:

• At 3:12 p.m. on Monday, GFD was dispatched to the Putnam County Regional Airport for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 3:20 and found that a water flow sensor was activated without cause. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 3:36 p.m.

• At 3:27 p.m. on Monday, GFD was dispatched to 1044 Avenue B for a communication line that was down. Firefighters arrived at 3:33 and secured the line as it was not damaged. GFD went back into service at 3:57 p.m.

• At 7:21 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD was dispatched to 904 S. College Ave. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 7:26 and determined the alarm was due to hair spray. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 7:34 p.m.

• At 8:48 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD was dispatched to Humbert Hall at DePauw University for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 8:53 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 8:59 p.m.

• At 9:53 a.m. on Wednesday, GFD was dispatched to Kappa Kappa Gamma at DePauw for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 10 a.m. and it was found that the alarm was due to spray deodorant. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 10:02 p.m.

Additionally, GFD responded to six medical assists during this timeframe.
