Charles T. ‘Charlie’ Schenk

Charles T. “Charlie” Schenk, 81, of Cloverdale, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023.

He was born June 5, 1941, in Indianapolis, the son of Charles J. and Honor Audrey (Watkins) Schenk.

He was a graduate of Washington High School in Indianapolis.

He was a veteran, having served in the United States Navy, and was a member of the Cloverdale Masonic Lodge and Shriners.

Charlie was a manager at the Soapy Joe’s car wash in Greencastle, retiring in 2014. He previously worked as a car salesman for dealerships in Greencastle, Terre Haute and Brazil and 10 years with Indianapolis Gas and Power Company.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Charlie is survived by his wife of 41 years, Janice (Giddings) Schenk; a sister, Susan Muncie; sisters-in-law Jenni (Ernie) Artis) and Joan (Bob) Corns; and nieces and nephews Michelle, Shawn, Robin, Karen and Aaron.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will follow at the Fillmore Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
