Ronald Lynn Vermillion

Ronald Lynn Vermillion, 81, of Cloverdale, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023, at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.

Ronald was born in Greencastle on August 19, 1941, the son of Wendell Shaw Vermillion and Nettie Oval (Duncan) Pettit.

He worked as a cement mason for 30 years, and also worked as a custodian with Indiana State Police Post 53 in Putnamville for 24 years until his retirement in 2021.

Mr. Vermillion was a member of Moose Lodge 1592 and American Legion Post 58.

Survivors include his three children, Tammy Plummer, Mark Vermillion and Kelsey Vermillion; a brother, Danny Vermillion; a sister, Debbie Burke (husband Steve); eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jerry Vermilion and Stephen Ray Vermilion.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 29 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with Indiana State Police Chaplin Dick Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday.
