Emily Jane Duncan

On March 25, 2023, the world lost one of its most precious people with the sudden and untimely passing of Emily (Emme) Jane Duncan.

A kind, gentle, generous and loving soul, Emme made every room brighter and every person who knew her a little bit happier. She will be remembered for her love of cooking and crocheting blankets for friends and family.

She dearly loved her dog and being a “Memaw” to her precious grandchildren. She will be missed forevermore by family and friends whose hearts are shattered.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Heidi.

Emme is survived by her parents, Jack and Trudy Wright; her sister, Toby Rumple (with husband David); her niece and nephew, Maggie and Owen Rumple; her nephews Cole Payton (with wife Savannah and sons Kaise and Emmitt) and Connor Payton; her eldest daughter, Brette (with husband Brodey and the grandchildren – Arley and Palmer – who were the center of Emme’s universe), who carried forth Emme’s wit and fire; her youngest daughter, Chloe, who continues Emme’s legacy of generosity and kindness while feeding the world; and her last true love, A.J. Nash (and his child Maddie), who tried to give her everything but couldn’t match what he got in return from his Zuzu.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 1 at Servies & Morgan Funeral Home, 102 E. Washington St., Roachdale, IN 46172, with Pastor Harlen Kincaid officiating. Burial will follow in Roachdale Cemetery. Friends are invited for a time of visitation with the family on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
