County Jail

Seven people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Monday

• At 2:12 a.m. Timothy L. Edwards, 62, Bainbridge, was lodged at the jail for driving a vehicle with a controlled substance in the body.

Friday

• At 7:33 p.m. Courtney L. Brock, 40, Ladoga, was taken into custody for driving with a suspended license.

• At 4:29 p.m. Alan J. Aynes, 25, Cloverdale, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 1:46 p.m. Mark A. Fox, 52, Greencastle, was booked in on a local warrant.

• At 11:53 a.m. Jacob D. Nissen, 25, Cloverdale, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

Thursday

• At 1:21 p.m. Anastasia H. Lopez, 20, Greencastle, was taken into custody on a local warrant.

• At 8:58 a.m. Jasmine J. Cook, 20, Indianapolis, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

City Police

A summons and a recent citation were issued by Greencastle City Police officers:

• At 11:28 p.m. Thursday, Jarred Gibson, 20, Greencastle, was issued a summons by Officer Justin Herd.

Stopped at Arlington and Franklin streets, Gibson was given the summons into court for operating a motor vehicle without ever obtaining a license.

Gibson was also issued a citation for having an expired license plate (Oct. 28, 2023).

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to six incidents between Thursday morning and early Monday morning:

• At 7:21 a.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to 3197 S. U.S. 231 for an odor of gas. Firefighters arrived at 7:25 and did not determine a cause for the smell after monitoring the building. GFD went back into service at 7:37 a.m.

• At 2:25 p.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to Bishop Roberts Hall at DePauw University for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 2:28 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 2:36 p.m.

• At 7:08 p.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to the apartments at 330 Greenwood Ave. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 7:13 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 7:18 p.m.

• At 12:08 a.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to Druley House at DePauw for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 12:13 and did not determine a cause for the alarm. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 12:16 a.m.

• At 8:32 p.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to Blanchard House at DePauw for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 8:36 and determined the alarm was due to a hair dryer. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 8:40 p.m.

• At 12:34 a.m. on Monday, GFD was dispatched to 111 S. Spring St. for an activated smoke detector. Firefighters arrived soon after and determined the detector was bad. The resident was given a new detector, and GFD went back into service at 12:51 a.m.

Additionally, GFD responded for six medical assists and had one disregard during this timeframe.
