County Jail

Twelve people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Sunday

• At 5:35 p.m. Stacey L. Northington, 34, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail on three local warrants.

Saturday

• At 11:56 p.m. Mark A. Rissler, 36, Brazil, was taken into custody on a local warrant.

• At 1:04 p.m. Tabetha D. Judd, 35, Plainfield, was housed at the jail for possession of a controlled substance and two counts of trafficking with an inmate.

• At 3:24 a.m. Nicholas T. Crewes, 31, Danville, was booked in for driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated endangering a person and resisting law enforcement.

Friday

• At 11:08 p.m. Chandler R. Hyten, 27, Fillmore, was lodged at the jail for resisting law enforcement and on a local warrant.

Thursday

• At 11:04 p.m. Kelly K. Warren, 56, Poland, was taken into custody for driving while intoxicated.

• At 9:16 p.m. Dakota A. Adams, 25, Joplin, Mo., was housed at the jail on an out-of-county warrant.

• At 8:37 p.m. Jason R. Pierce, 26, Rockville, was booked in on a local warrant.

• At 7:14 p.m. Glenn A. Meloon, 49, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail for intimidation and interference with the reporting of a crime.

• At 6:25 p.m. Alexis D. Burk, 26, Terre Haute, was taken into custody on a local warrant.

• At 3:09 p.m. Lisa M. Grimes, 32, Greencastle, was housed at the jail for probation violation.

• At 10:31 a.m. Joseph A. Hagan, 34, Evansville, was booked in on a local warrant.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to eight incidents between Thursday morning and late Sunday evening:

• At 8:47 a.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched to Greencastle Maytag Laundry for a gas leak. Firefighters arrived at 8:50 to a smell of gas inside the building. The gas was shut off and the building was metered until CenterPoint Energy arrived to locate the leak. GFD went back into service at 9:23 a.m.

• At 12:12 p.m. on Friday, GFD responded to a motor vehicle incident with injuries at 3477 S. U.S. 231 (Plessinger’s Hill). Firefighters arrived on the scene at 12:17 and removed debris from the roadway. GFD went back into service at 12:27 p.m.

• At 4:19 p.m. on Friday, GFD was called to assist the Reelsville Volunteer Fire Department with a brush fire at 9676 S. CR 675 West. Firefighters arrived on the scene at 4:39 and extinguished the fire along with personnel from the Madison Township and Cloverdale Township volunteer fire departments. GFD went back into service at 5:33 p.m.

• At 3:27 p.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to Humbert Hall at DePauw University for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 3:32 and did not determine a cause for the alarm. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 3:44 p.m.

• At 5:18 p.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to the Greencastle Arby’s for a powerline down. Firefighters arrived at 5:21 and determined it was a communication line and moved and secured it. GFD went back into service at 5:32 p.m.

• At 6:38 p.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to Pence House at DePauw for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 6:40 and did not determine a cause for the alarm. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 6:43 p.m.

• At 8:05 p.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to 2689 S. CR 150 West for an unauthorized burn. Firefighters arrived at 8:11 and determined the burn was not in violation. After speaking with the homeowner, GFD went back into service at 8:20 p.m.

• At 10:57 p.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to Minshall House at DePauw for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 11:01 p.m. and determined the head of the activated detector was dirty. The head was cleaned and the alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 11:08 p.m.

Additionally, GFD responded for seven medical assists and had one disregard during this timeframe.
