County Jail

Six people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Sunday

• At 1:23 p.m. William D. Neighbors, 46, Indianapolis, was lodged at the jail for false informing.

Saturday

• At 2:15 a.m. Brandon K. Cox, 44, Greencastle, was taken into custody for driving while intoxicated.

Friday

• At 1:30 p.m. Jeffrey A. Debruler, 32, Indianapolis, was booked in for probation violation.

• At 10:33 a.m. Kayla B. Marr, 30, Indianapolis, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 9:40 a.m. Zachary A. Poole, 41, Greencastle, was taken into custody on a local warrant.

• At 4:17 a.m. Zachary A. Nichols, 25, Cloverdale, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

City Police

One recent arrest was reported by Greencastle City Police:

• At 1:29 a.m. Saturday, Creigh A. Remsburg, 23, Greencastle, was arrested by Officer Billy DeWitt.

Taken into custody at a Bloomington Street residence, Remsburg was lodged in the Putnam County Jail on charges of criminal trespass and public intoxication.

His blood-alcohol concentration level registered .145 percent under testing.

Five recent citations were issued by city officers:

• At 12:43 p.m. Friday, Amanda Jones, 51, Cloverdale, was ticketed for speeding by Sgt. Nick Eastham.

Stopped on Shadowlawn Avenue, Jones was cited for 39 mph in a 20-mph zone.

• At 12 p.m. Friday, Amanda Capps, 49, Greencastle, was ticketed for speeding by Capt. Brad Hiatt.

Stopped on Percy Julian Drive, Capps was cited for speeding in a school zone at 44 mph in a 20-mph zone.

• At 10:51 a.m. Thursday, Curtis Fields was cited by Officer Darrel Bunten.

Fields was ticketed for going the wrong way on a one-way street at Washington and Locust streets.

• At 12:32 p.m. April 9, Laura Salazar, 18, Greencastle, was ticketed by Capt. Hiatt.

Stopped at Percy Julian Drive and Washington Street, Salazer was cited for speeding in a school zone at 41 mph in a 20-mph zone. She was also ticketed for an infraction of driving with a suspended license.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to four incidents between Thursday morning and Monday morning:

• At 5:36 p.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to the apartments at 106 S. Spring St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 5:41 and determined the alarm was due to hair care products. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 5:46 p.m.

• At 12:20 p.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched to 4 N. CR 175 West for a carbon monoxide alarm. Firefighters arrived at 12:30 and determined the activated alarm was defective and needed to be replaced. GFD went back into service at 12:50 p.m.

• At 5:21 p.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched for a tree limb blocking the roadway at 925 S. CR 300 North. Firefighters found the tree limb at 5:28, cut it up and cleared debris. GFD went back into service at 5:38 p.m.

• At 12:59 p.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to Bishop Roberts Hall at DePauw University for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 1:01 p.m. and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 1:07 p.m.

Additionally, GFD responded for five medical assists and had two disregards during this timeframe.
