John L. Perry, 74, Cloverdale, died Sunday at his residence.

Born in Hansford, W. Va., he was the son of Elmer and Mildred (Douglas) Perry.

He married Nancy Fowler on Nov. 3, 1963. She survives.

He attended East Bank High School, East Bank, W. Va., and was a fork lift operator at Olin Brass, Indianapolis. He attended New Life Baptist Church, Greencastle, and was a former deacon at Speedway General Baptist Church, Speedway. He was a member of F. & A.M. No. 654, Monrovia, O.E.S., Martins-ville, and Indianapolis Valley of Scottish Rite. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Other survivors include his daughter Julie Ann Hurst and husband Stephen, Cloverdale; sons John L. Perry, II, and wife Celeste, Greencastle, and John Steven Perry, and wife Marilyn, Gannelton, W. Va.; sisters Mary Welcher and husband David, Montgomery, W. Va., Carol Robinson, Crown Hill, W. Va., Ruth Pritt, and husband Arnold, Monrovia, and Helen Cantley, and husband Darrel, Marmet, W. Va.; brothers Charles Perry, and wife Betty, Point Pleasant, W. Va., Jerry Perry, and wife Sara, Point Pleasant, W. Va., Paul Perry, Edgewater, Fla., and Ronnie Perry, and wife Betty, Hansford, W. Va.; seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Edward Perry.

Services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale.

Visitation is set for 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

O.E.S. and Masonic Memorial Service is at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
