Betty Jean Eiteljorge, 85, Greencastle, died Tuesday at Hendricks Regional Health in Danville.

Born in Greencastle, she was the daughter of Clyde and Claudia (Crawley) Grimes. She married William H. Eiteljorge on April 17, 1948. He preceded her in death on Feb. 21, 1980.

She retired from DePauw University where she worked as a secretary to the director of admissions.

She was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church, Elks Lodge 1077, American Legion Post 58 and VFW Post 1550.

Survivors include a son, William H. Eiteljorge, Greencastle; a sister, Madonna Hammond and husband Herschel, Greencastle; four nephews and three nieces.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Arthur Ray and Tim Grimes.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Rev. William Wieland officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.

Visitation is 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
