Forest Shumaker

Forest E. Shumaker, 70, Largo, Fla., formerly of Indianapolis, died Tuesday.

He was the son of Emmett and Mary (Finchum) Shumaker.

He was employed at J.C. Penney at Castleton for 30 years. He was a member of New Testament Baptist Church in Largo, Fla., and Franklin Road Baptist Church, Indianapolis, where he served as deacon for many years and was a choir member. He was vice president of Colonial Village Mobile Home Park in Largo.

He married Joyce Davenport on April 10, 1955. She survives.

Also surviving are sons, Gary Shumaker and wife Kelli, Mark Shumaker and wife Penny, and Brian Shumaker; sister Barbara Sullivan, Phoenix, Ariz.; twin sister Delores Alward, Monrovia; and four grandchildren.

Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday at Franklin Road Baptist Church, Indianapolis, with visitation from 5-7 p.m.
