Janet E. Lewis, 72, Greencastle, died Tuesday in Indianapolis.

Born in Jamestown, Ind., she was the daughter of Buford Glenn and Eva Irene Gossett Owens.

She served as a crossing guard on Shadowlawn for Tzouanakis Intermediate School, and worked with her husband at Lewis Bait and Tackle, Greencastle, for 24 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Jean Owens.

Survivors include her husband, Eldon D. Lewis; two sisters, Judith Owens, Indianapolis, and Sue Smock, Scottsdale, Ariz.; two daughters, Karen French, Lebanon, and Pamela York and husband, Robert, Greencastle; three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 11, at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, with Rev. Shannon Ivers officiating.

Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.

Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
