George F. "Pete" Zimmerman

George F. "Pete" Zimmerman, 70, Brownsburg, died Wednesday at St. Vincent Hospice, Indianapolis.

Born in Ladoga, he was the son of Earl George and Annie Esther (Cline) Zimmerman.

He married Wilma Malayer on Nov. 5, 1960. She survives.

A 1954 graduate of Bainbridge High school, he served in the U.S. Army and was a carpenter. He was also a member of the Haw Creek Church of Christ, the Masonic Lodge at Groveland, and the Indiana Carpenters Union Local No. 60, Indianapolis.

Survivors include daughters Cynthia Weller and husband Brian, Brownsburg, and Linda Smith and husband Richard, Brookston; brothers Carl Richard Zimmerman, Minneapolis, and William Glenn Zimmerman, Bainbridge; sisters Mary Ann York, Roachdale, and Nancy Walenton, Virginia; five grandchildren, and one great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Zimmerman, a brother, James Zimmerman, and sister Evelyn Nave.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 18, at Servies and Morgan Funeral Home. Burial will be at Roachdale Cemetery.

Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with a Masonic Memorial Service at 7:30 p.m.
