Ethel Mae Simpson, 85, Russellville, died Tuesday at Williamsburg Health Care.

Born in Putnamville, she was the daughter of William Crawford and Grace (Haymaker) Sellers.

A homemaker, she married Forrest E. Simpson on Sept. 23, 1939. He preceded her in death.

A 1939 graduate of Russellville High School, she was a member of the Russellville Community Church and worked at the Auditor's office at Greencastle. She also owned and operated Simpson and Sons Grocery in Russellville for 17 years.

Survivors include sons Max W. Simpson and wife LaVonne, Darlington, Mike D. Simpson and wife Yvonne, Waveland, and Charles E. Simpson and wife Kelley, Roachdale; brother William Sellers and wife Anna Ruth, Anderson; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, three brothers and two sisters.

Services are at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Russellville Community Church with the Rev. Velma Keesling officiating. Burial will be at Indian Creek Hill Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
