Eva E. Day, 87, Bainbridge, died Wednesday at the Danville Regional Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Herschel and Esther (Feuhrer) Pendergast. She was a graduate of Broad Ripple High School class of 1936 and worked for 42 years with American United Life Insurance in Indianapolis, retiring in 1981. She had also owned and operated the Groveland Texaco and Motel with her husband for several years.

On May 7, 1939, she married Chelsie Day. He proceeded her in death on April 30, 1985.

Survivors include her cousins, Flora Manning, Lowell, Mass., Rose Mary Moreland, Dillsboro, and Emma Lee Beagle, Carmel.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and sisters, an infant and Loretta Pendergast.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle. Burial will be in the Bainbridge Cemetery.

Visitation has been set for 5-8 p.m. Friday, with an Order of Eastern Star memorial service at 7 p.m.
