Frances Young, 89, Indianapolis, died Monday at Harberside Healthcare, Decatur, Indianapolis.

Born in Putnam County, she was the daughter of Lenox C. Crawley and Luna Catherine (Prince) Crawley.

She married Richard Jacob Young on May 16, 1934. He preceded her in death on Nov. 7, 1997.

She attended Putnamville School and was a baker at the Pike High School cafeteria, Indianapolis while also being a homemaker.

Surviving are two sisters, Mae Sanders, Fillmore, and Irene Crosson and husband Walter, Taylorsville, Ill.; brother Eugene P. Crawley and wife Barbara, Indianapolis; two granddaughters, two grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son Robert Young; sister Minnie Mundy Shaner; brothers John Crawley, Arthur Cassell Crawley, and Lenox Charles "Nick" Crawley; two halfsisters, Mary Slater, and Lizabel Rodriguez; and halfbrother Lilburn Crawley.

Services will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Burial will be at Cloverdale Cemetery.

Visitation is set for 4-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
