Wanda Z. (Bailey) Hammond, 88, Greencastle, died Monday morning at Meadows Manor Nursing Home, Terre Haute.

She was the daughter of George Washington and Hazel (Abbott) Bailey.

She had been a secretary for Greencastle Junior High for 23 years, retiring in 1982. She was a member of First Christian Church in Greencastle, volunteered for the Putnam County Hospital Guild and belonged to several card clubs.

She married Elmer Hammond on July 16, 1939. He preceded her in death.

Surviving are a daughter, Glenna Jane Timmons, Terre Haute; a son, Randall D. Hammond, Bloomington; sister Donna Badger and husband David, Indianapolis; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Rev. Ross Walters officiating. Burial will be at Fillmore Cemetery.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to services Saturday.
