Janice Helen Ford, 62, Greencastle, died Monday at her residence.

Born in Ogden, Utah, she was the daughter of Ernest James and Helen (Worthen) Ford. She was a graduate of Highland High School in Salt Lake, Utah, and received her B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Louisiana State University.

Ford was the Associate Director of Career Services at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Terre Haute. She had previously worked several years with Westinghouse as a recruiter and five years designing coal fire turbines. She was a member of the Society of Women Engineers, and had been an officer with the Putnam County Saddle Club. She was also active with the Putnam County Playhouse, on and off stage, while also helping design costumes.

Survivors include a brother, Ernie Ford and wife Linda, Greencastle; a niece, Stacey Peterson and husband Preston, Reelsville; and a nephew, Jim Ford, New York City.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial services will take place at 4 p.m. on Friday at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home with the Rev. William Wieland officiating. There will be no visitation.
